I had the best coil bed that lasted 20 years and was flippable. Was considered the gold standard in 1988. Had to let it go about 5 years ago and have already gone through 2 terrible beds that sag. I tried Sealy again and the bed quality is now terrible even though I bought a relatively expensive bed. The current one has a lot of memory foam and individually wrapped coils and can not be flipped. I want a bed like my old one. It was very heavy and had a new coil system at the time that was a zig zag but was all tied together at the top and extra support at bed edging. Can you help me out?
We happen to make a two-sided flippable mattress that uses Sealy’s old Posturepedic coil unit and similar padding to that which was used back then…with ZERO memory foam.
We’ve had them on the market for 5 years. They are extremely well made and have had no complaints.
The zig-zag springs that you are remembering, is the way the boxspring was made. They called it a torsion bar boxspring. It was very good and no longer made by anyone.
Here is a link to the mattresses. They come in firm or plush. The brand is Therapedic and the model name is Cameo.
These were made to my specifications…made to mimic the mattresses from 20 years ago.
