We just purchased, from Macy’s, a Simmons Beautyrest Black plush pillowtop mattress), for 50% off paying $3,250.00 plus 8.25 tax. Never expected not to like it!!
A return will cost 15% purchase price – and not tax back $70.00 pick up fee. Don’t want to make another expensive mistake- please advise! (Husband weighs 228- 6ft. 2in. – me 106 and 5ft 3 in).
The bed seems OK, initially, when you first down– but wake up around 3 am and feel like in hole! Spouse feels like can’t sleep to edge.
I have been following your site for awhile. Do we buy basic strong bed and add topper? I need soft but support. (have sciatica and trochonteric bursitis in R. hip.) Await your reply –
Thank you. Do I need latex topper? Lois
Going with a firm mattress and adding a 2″ soft layer of Talalay latex provides everything you need. What’s more, it’ll stay that way.
Sciatica stems from a pinch nerve in the small of your back. The nerve center for the lower half of your body is located there.
You have worn discs that are exposing the nerves. Maintaining proper spinal alignment is the key to relieving your sciatica.
The padding in your pillowtop mattress sinks in too easily, and the coils in a plush Beautyrest are too thin, which throws off your spine’s alignment.
Opt for a Black model that is luxury firm, without a pillowtop. Add the EverEden All natural 2″ Soft Talalay Latex topper and all will be well.
