We recently bought a mattress from one of those large chain stores. They insisted that we buy their waterproof mattress protector, claiming that I wouldn’t have a manufacturer’s warranty without it.
Is that really true, or were we mislead?
Anyway, this mattress protector sleeps hot and makes crinkly sounds. It’s all very annoying.
Can you recommend a waterproof mattress protector that doesn’t have all these problems?
I do indeed.
We went a long time without having a waterproof mattress protector to offer, because I didn’t like the side effects you mentioned.
We, finally, have one we like, that sleeps cool, makes no noise, and won’t shrink when washed in hot water.
The mattress manufacturers, all have the same clause in their warranty. Besides needing your receipt and the “Law” label that’s sewn into a seam at the head of the mattress,
your mattress must be free of stains…if you are to have any hope of prevailing in a warranty claim, should you need it.
The reason for this is that moisture will aid in breaking down the upholstery materials.
We all have cycles of warming and cooling as we sleep. Perspiration can cause a stain…not to mention spills and other accidents.
However, you do not need any particular mattress protect…or any at all, for that matter…as long as the mattress remains free of stains.
The one we carry was designed by a Danish company, called Danican. It’s the best I’ve every come across….not only for the reasons mentioned, but also because of the fit.
It’s a generous cut…fitting up to 18″. It fits properly and doesn’t pop off.
