I am looking at buying a latex mattress.
I am concerned because I have asthma and am allergic to polyurethane and latex.
Would this affect my asthma????
What am I sleeping directly on?
You’ll want to understand your allergies before proceeding.
I just had blood work done. There was a sign in the office about letting them know if you have a latex allergy.
Unlike latex gloves and bandages, the process that produces latex foam removes the allergen from the finished product.
While you may be allergic to latex in products like latex gloves, you won’t have an allergic reaction to latex foam.
Latex doesn’t off gas chemicals, as do Poly and Memory foams.
A latex allergy manifests itself topically. You have to be touching it…as you would gloves and bandages.
With the allergen removed and the latex covered, there’s simply no way to have an allergic reaction.
That said, it’s important to get latex that isn’t supported by a poly foam core.
It’s important that the latex be 100% pure and all natural…not blended and with no fillers.
For the best quality latex, we turn to EverEden, which also happens to be a best buy.
Here is a link to those. The 9″ model is the most popular and can be customized to provide the feel you want.
