Natura of Canada Greenspring Mattress to Relieve Back Pain and the Pain from Fibromyalgia.

Karen writes:

Hello, Pete.

Please recommend a king-size bed for us.

His issues: Aged 62, 6 ft 3 in; 245 lb; side & back sleeper; pain in lower back, right shoulder, and right knee
Her issues: Aged 59, 5 ft 6 in, 180 lb, side & stomach sleeper, fibromyalgia (more pain when staying in any position too long)
We have a Jamison Marriott Hotel Mattress.  It is a foam mattress over a box spring foundation.
The springs have sagged and the body impressions are deep.
Based on Consumer Reports recommendations, my husband wants to buy a Costco Novaform foam. I don’t.  We’re stuck.
We need to get more restful sleep in order to be more productive.  Please help us made a decision soon.
Thanks, Karen
Hi Karen,

It’s a shame about Consumer Reports. I’ve used them over the years to buy all sorts of things.
A few of years ago, Consumer Reports came out with a Mattress Issue, where they offered no recommendations, citing that the mattress industry was much too complex for them to understand.
That was the last bit of truth to come out of them. 6 months later, after getting some flack over their last report, they interviewed 100 people in Denver and based their recommendations on those interviews. Their conclusions were all wrong.
A year later, they tested 12 mattresses….12, out of the 12,000 that are currently on the market. Again, their conclusions are all wrong.
Today, they use the old machines to test the pressure sensitivity of mattress, and base their recommendations on those tests.

Clearly, the people at Consumer Reports still do not understand the mattress industry.
The mattresses, they rate so highly, are upholstered with memory foam.
Memory foam is the ONLY upholstery material that is temperature sensitive…softening as it warms from your body heat.
The machines they use to test mattresses, apply no heat. Subsequently, their conclusions are all wrong.
Their recommendations are NOT to be followed.

Memory foam has proven to be thee worst material ever invented for use in or as a mattress…over it’s 20 year history.
Here are posts from a couple of my blogs…questions and answers for you to peruse. Perhaps it will shed some light on the truth for you. Right now, your husband is a victim of the hype.

What I would recommend for you, is a Natura of Canada Greenspring Plush EuroTop Mattress.

This mattress uses an individually pocketed coil system, which contours to the shape of your body and maintains the natural alignment of your spine.

The coil count is very high and the steel from which the coils are made, is double tempered…strong enough to hold a large man.

With the coils all moving independently from one another, you won’t feel each other when you move.

The upholstery is Natural Talalay Latex…the best upholstery material for the last 100 years.

Here’s a link to that mattress:

ALSO IMPORTANT:
I suggest using a waterproof mattress protector with every mattress.
Keeping your mattress clean and dry will greatly extend the life and loft of the upholstery materials inside. Ours sleep cool and make NO Noise.
