We’ve appreciated your advice in the past and need help again.
We currently sleep on adjustable twin extra long beds with Simmons Beautyrest Black Ava with your 2 inch latex topper.
The mattresses are 5.5 years old now. I weight 160. My husband weighs 210. I am 5’5” tall. My husband is 5’9”.
We both have hip issues. He, especially, has hip pain at night and cannot get comfortable.
Because the beds are adjustable, the center of the mattress bears most of our weight.
We sleep with head slightly elevated. The mattress is sagging a little in the middle due to that.
It does not bother me and I sleep OK. Do we need to replace our toppers with the 3 inch toppers.
If the mattress already needs replacing, that would be a huge expense for us.
Would a latex mattress sink in the middle on an adjustable bed like the Ava?

An adjustable bed does cause a mattress to wear more quickly, especially in that spot where body weight is concentrated.
You are correct. An all latex mattress does the best job of resisting that wear.
A 3” Latex Topper doesn’t do any better a job of saving the mattress, than the 2”.
It does provide a more comfortable surface feel, which helps with hip pain.
