Hi Pete,
My wife and I have a queen Sealy Posturepedic St. Julien Ltd plush pillow top mattress, (purchased in 2003).
We still love this mattress, but have found that, in our old age, we keep each other awake, sleeping in same bed.
We are switching to twin beds.
Since this model no longer exists, do you have any suggestions on a similar mattress?
If it helps, we are both side sleepers.
Thanks, Bill
Hi William,
The bad news is, there is nothing similar.
In 2003, you couldn’t buy a bad mattress.
Today, it’s incredibly difficult to buy a good one.
All of the name brands have been sold.
Sealy was purchased by Tempurpedic in 2013.
We stopped selling Sealy, shortly afterwards.
The good news is, you don’t want one similar.
The design of that bed is why you’re disturbing each other.
Going to two twins may not be necessary.
Your Posturepedic has an interlocking coil unit. All the coils are tied together.
Today, most innersprings are individually pocketed coils. All moving independently from one another.
This type of coil system provides an independent suspension type of support.
It’s ideal for maintaining the natural alignment of the spine, which reduces back pain.
What’s more, you can hardly feel each other move.
Which mattress that’s right for you, depends on you.
How old are you?
What are your sizes…heights and weights?
Do you have any physical ailments?
VERY IMPORTANT:
Keeping your mattress clean and dry will increase longevity.
Use our Organic Cotton Waterproof Mattress Protector.
Thanks, Pete
