Hi Pete,
I am just beginning my mattress search and am hoping you can pass along some basic advice.
I am considering an all latex mattress vs. a pocketed coil latex hybrid mattress.
What are the advantages/disadvantages of each?
I am 52 year old woman, 150 lbs. I sleep on my side and sometimes back.
I had a latex topper in the past and really liked it.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks, Tricia
Hi Tricia,
While latex is the best of all the foams, an all foam mattress is better for people who are young and fit.
A all latex mattress is an exceptionally good choice for a young adult or growing child.
As we age, things inside our bodies tend to wear….specifically, the discs between the vertebrae in our spines.
At your age, you may be young enough to have not yet felt the results of that wear….but it won’t take much longer.
A pre-compressed, individually pocketed innerspring mattress that’s upholstered with Natural Talalay Latex, is the best you can do for yourself….providing upward spinal support that an all latex mattress does not provide.
The best of them, and the one we use at home, is the Natura of Canada Greenspring Ultra Plush.

The Natura GreenSpring series combines the natural elements commonly found in Natura, such as wool and latex, but it has a specially designed pocketed coil system to provide your body with extra support.
