Best Mattress for Spinal Fusion Surgery, Quickly.

Becky writes:
Hi Pete,

I just confirmed that I’m going to have spinal fusion surgery within the next 3 weeks or so.
I’m a 63 year old woman and weigh over 200 lbs.
I need to find the best mattress, quickly, one to support me after surgery.
Can you give me your best advice?
I live in Ohio
Thank you!!

Hi Becky,

Best/Quick mattress: The Wolf Pocketed Coil/Latex Hybrid “Adara” model.

Strong, firm support…plush, but not too plush…well made and durable for your size.

Shown here:

Ups shipping is free and there’s no sales tax.

(You will need someone on your end to bring it in and unpack it for you)

Best mattress/not quick…but with white glove delivery, including set up in your bedroom and removal of your old mattress.

Superior in quality to the Wolf mattress…but, double the price.

The Natura of Canada Greenspring Ultra Plush.

It’s the mattress my wife and I sleep on at home.

Shown here:

The Ultra Plush model is the most comfortable of the 4.

Due to the high density of the components, the ultra plush is not too soft.

That white glove delivery is free, and again, no sales tax.

Thanks, Pete
Hi Pete,
Thank you for your quick response.
What’s the difference (in comfort) between the plush and the ultra plush in the Natura of Candada.
I’m just thinking of my back issues, and of course the words “ultra plush” put visions of “extremely soft” in my head.
I will probably go with the Wolf Pocketed Coil for the spare room that I’m using right now.
I will continue to use that through my recovery from surgery.
However, I will need to continue with a firm mattress afterwards.
And so, I am considering ordering the Natura of Canada bed for the master bedroom.

Thank you for your patience with me. 😊

Good Morning Becky,

As I explained in my previous email, the the Natura Ultra Plush is not as soft as it sounds, nor as soft as you’re imagining.
I have a number of back problems. Yet, I sleep and wake with no back pain on the ultra plush.
My wife has a hip that causes her pain, so we added a 3” soft latex topper to that mattress.
Even with that extra layer of soft latex, no back pain.
Latex feels like nothing else…cushiony and comfortable, but extremely resilient.
Latex, even soft latex, doesn’t allow you to sink into it.
Rather, it holds you up, creating the feeling of floating.
Your idea of using the Wolf Adara in the spare bedroom and the Natura Greenspring in your master bedroom, is an excellent one.
That Wolf mattress and the Natura Greenspring are similarly made…similar support and comfort.

So, you’ll get a good idea of feel from the Adara before ordering the Greenspring.

We recommend using a waterproof mattress protector with every mattress.
Keeping the upholstery materials clean and dry will extend the life of the mattress.

Thanks, Pete
