Hi Pete,
My current mattress is only 4 yrs old and a hybrid with foam over coils.
My back is killing me because it no longer supports me enough.
I am trying to decide whether I need a 2” or 3” mattress pillow cover.
Here are my other questions:
How can I be sure that it will stay on my bed without moving around during sleep?
What is the maximum depth of existing mattress to ensure that the corner sleeves fit?
What would each weigh?
Thanks for your help, Karen
Hi Karen,
Your questions are moot.
A topper is not for support. That’s the job of the mattress.
Your mattress has memory foam, which has already failed.
Adding a topper, at this point, is a waste of money.
Had you added a latex topper when the mattress was new, it would have prevented the premature wear, but it’s too late for that.
You need a new mattress.
We recommend using a waterproof mattress protector with every mattress.
Keeping the upholstery materials clean and dry will extend the life of the mattress.
Thanks, Pete
