Hi Pete,
I’ve been researching your very informative sight.
I have a Sealy Posturepedic Crown Jewel king size mattress, purchased in 1997, and still using it.
It has been a great mattress. Need a second one of similar quality for a second bedroom.
I’m 61 years old, 5′ 10 “, 195 lbs and shoulders and hips are beginning to ache.
My wife is 60, 5’7″, 150 lbs and healthy as a horse.
Could you please recommend a couple of your top mattresses to choose from given our criteria?
Also, any specs on the recommended mattresses is much appreciated.
Thank you, Pete
Hi Pete,
The 1990s was the best time to buy a mattress.
The industry had struck that balance of support, comfort and longevity.
During those years, it was nearly impossible to buy a bad mattress.
All of the major brands were competing with one another for quality & comfort.
Much has changed since then.
All of the name brands were sold to investors who concern themselves with profits only…not quality.
The product that came along, that made all this happen?…Memory Foam.
Your mattress has no memory foam, which is why it lasted so long.
Despite all the advertising hype to the contrary, memory foam is the worst upholstery material ever invented…specifically designed to cause a mattress to need frequent replacing.
The key to a successful purchase, today, is in avoiding mattresses made with memory foam.
We had been a Sealy/S&F dealer for many years, until 2013, when Tempurpedic bought them both.
What had been great products are now nothing more than expensive junk.
All that sent us to the trade shows, to find high quality alternatives.
The best we found is what we sleep on at home.
The brand is Natura of Canada Greenspring.
We have the ultra plush model, which is the most comfortable of the 4 models in that line.
Here is a link to that line of mattresses.

The Natura GreenSpring series combines the natural elements commonly found in Natura, such as wool and latex, but it has a specially designed pocketed coil system to provide your body with extra support.

These mattresses come with white glove delivery.
Delivery includes set up in your bedroom and removal of your old mattress/set.
Delivery is free and there’s no sales tax.
We recommend using a waterproof mattress protector with every mattress.
Keeping the upholstery materials clean and dry will extend the life of the mattress.
Thanks, Pete
