A Good Quality Mattress for our Adjustable Bed Bases.

Hi Pete,
I’m having a difficult time finding a good quality mattress for our adjustable bed bases.
Huge dips develop in the center of every mattress we’ve purchased.
After reading your blog posts, I’ve learned that it’s because of the memory foam used in these mattresses.
So, I need a recommendation for my wife and I.
I’m heavier than her and prefer a firmer feel than she does.
More importantly, we need mattresses that will do a much better job of keeping their shape.
What would you suggest for 2 twin-xl mattresses that are compatible with adjustable bed bases?

I’m happy to see that you’ve been reading my blog.
Your assessment of the situation is correct. It is the poor quality of memory foam that has been causing the problem.
When you raise the head and foot of an adjustable bed base, the bulk of your body weight shifts from being evenly distributed across the face of the mattress, to the central point under your butt.
This is where those dips develop.
In order to have a mattress that wears better, the components in the mattress need to be better.
The mattresses I’m recommending use a double tempered steel, individually pocketed coil.
The upholstery is latex, which is the antithesis of memory foam in quality.
Latex is and has been the highest quality, most resilient upholstery material for the last 100 years.
