An Old Fashioned Two Sided Mattress with NO Memory Foam.

John writes:
Hi Pete,
We recently bought a two sided Serta Perfect Sleeper mattress, thinking it would be good.
We expected an old fashioned mattress that would last for about 10 years, like the old ones used to.
Well, you know what they say, “The road to disappointment is paved with expectations!”.
Staying true to that, we are very disappointed in this mattress. It’s shot in less than a year’s time.
Upon registering a complaint, I come to find that nothing about this mattress meets the criteria for an exchange.
Turns out, the memory foam returns enough to not show a body impression deep enough to prevail in a warranty claim.
So, I went online to research what went wrong and what to do next.
That’s when I found your blog, which warns about mattresses made with memory foam for that same reason.
I wish I had found it before buying this hunk of junk.
So, I ask you, can you recommend a truly old fashioned two sided mattress with NO Memory Foam in it?
Thanks, John
Hi John,
While aware of that philosophy about expectations being true, I wasn’t aware that “they” said it.
I figured that it was just common knowledge.
Anyway, we do carry a truly Old Fashioned Two Sided Mattress, from Wolf, that has NO Memory Foam in it.
The Brolynn Mattress comes in your choice of comfort…Firm, Plush or Duo Comfort.
It sports a tempered steel, individually pocketed coil unit for good, firm, contouring support, which maintains the natural alignment of your spine for relief of most common sources of back pain.
The upholstery is plant based polyurethane foam. It also uses cotton as a natural fire retardant.
It really is, a very nice, well made mattress….and, not expensive…like in the old days.
Here is a link to that mattress:

Shipping is free and there’s no sales tax.
We recommend using a waterproof mattress protector with every mattress.
Keeping the upholstery materials clean and dry will extend the life of the mattress.

Thanks, Pete
