Replacement Mattress for a Simmons Beautyrest World Class Winthrop Elite Pillowtop.

Barbara writes:
Hello Pete,

I purchased a Simmons Beautyrest World Class Winthrop Elite Pillowtop Queen mattress set in 2000.
Do you know what the current replacement would be for that model and if it is comparable in quality and comfort?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Hi Barbara,

Much has changed in the past 20 years…and not for the better.
Simmons was sold to investors, who are using memory foam to maximize profits.
You’d be lucky to get two years from the best they make, today.
All of the name brands, that could once be trusted to make a quality mattress, have been sold and all are using memory foam. The quality has been reduced, dramatically.
Memory foam is specifically designed to cause a mattress to need frequent replacing…and NOT under the terms of the warranty. THAT is the truly diabolical thing about memory foam.
Even when shot, it returns, close enough to its original shape when you get out of bed, so that prevailing in a warranty claim is a rare occurrence.
The thing about the Simmons Beautyrest, that made it so comfortable, is the individually pocketed coils.
They contour to the shape of the body and maintain the natural alignment of the spine.
The push back support keeps all your vertebrae in place, which relieves pain, even if you have disc damage.
The key, for you, is in buying a mattress with that same type of coil system and upholstered with poly or latex foams…or poly and latex….NO Memory Foam.
Here are links to 3 mattress lines that have what you need…from least expensive:
Wolf Brolynn Two Sided Mattress

Wolf Tulah Latex Hybrid Mattress

The first two ship via UPS.
The third comes with white glove delivery, which includes removal of your old mattress/Set.

In all cases, delivery is free and there’s no sales tax.

We recommend using a waterproof mattress protector with every mattress.
Keeping the upholstery materials clean and dry will extend the life of the mattress.

Thanks, Pete
