A Mattress Like The Holiday Inn Express Uses.

Melissa writes:
Hi Pete,

I am new to your site. I came across it looking to find out what type of mattress the Holiday Inn Express uses.
My husband and I have traveled a lot recently. There are a few hotels we stick to because of the mattresses.
On our last time away from home we both decided we both slept the best on the mattress from the Holiday Inn.
We are in need of a new mattress and have been shopping but a bit overwhelmed by the choices.
We thought for sure we should just by one like we slept on at the hotel.
Then we read your comments….
My husband and I are fairly average. I am 5’2″ and 118. My husband is 6’4″ and 220.
Is there a mattress you can recommend that would give us the same comfort as that mattress?
We would appreciate any help.

Thank you, Melissa

Hi Melissa,

Those mattresses use an individually pocketed coil unit, which contours to the shape of the body and maintains the natural alignment of the spine.
That’s why they’re so comfortable.
Hotels have long rejected the use of memory foam upholstery because it causes a mattress to need frequent replacing.
So, both Simmons and Sealy make mattresses without memory foam for hotels.
The mattresses they make for retail stores is all memory foam upholstery.
So, what you want is an individually pocketed coil mattress with no memory foam.
Many hotels offer their mattresses to the public, but they charge quite a lot for them.
Those same mattresses at retail stores cost less, but the memory foam makes them worthless.
At your sizes…you being so petite and your husband being so slender for his height, you don’t need an expensive mattress.
The best, for you two, is one of these pocketed coil hybrids from Wolf.
Wolf Tulah Latex Hybrid Mattress
They are both made well…individually pocketed coils made of double tempered steel.
The Adara model is all latex upholstery.
The Tulah is latex and poly foams.
There is no memory foam in either of these mattresses.
Both provide excellent support. Both are comfortable.
The Tulah has a more luxurious surface feel.

Shipping is free and there’s no sales tax.

We recommend using a waterproof mattress protector with every mattress.
Keeping the upholstery materials clean and dry will extend the life of the mattress.

Thanks, Pete
