Hi Pete,
I purchased a from Macy’s a week ago.
I have had the window open and overhead fan on…..trying to dissipate this very toxic smell.
I am returning it next week. I just hope that my clothes in closet don’t smell like this smell.
I have my room closed off to the rest of the house.
Very disappointing when you think you are getting a nice new king mattress and have to return it cause of the smell.
Why do they make mattresses with toxins in them?
Thanks, John
Hi John,
Why do they make mattresses with toxic chemicals?
The reason why people do crappy things is always the same…money.
Memory foam has created a boon for the industry and a nightmare for the consumer.
61 different chemicals are used to make memory foam….some, of which are highly toxic.
There is no one policing this industry, so many take advantage of that, at the expense of the health and welfare of the consumer.
The only thing that will cause the change needed, is a lawsuit.
Memory foam is the worst upholstery material ever invented.
It sleeps hot, wears quickly and presents a health hazard.
It is thee thing to avoid, when shopping for a mattress.
We recommend using a waterproof mattress protector with every mattress.
Keeping the upholstery materials clean and dry will extend the life of the mattress.
Thanks, Pete
