Hi Pete,
I need to buy a new mattress, but I don’t even know where to start.
Is there some kind of check off list I can start with?
The last two mattresses I bought were disastrous.
I bought a $4k Tempur-pedic mattress. What a nightmare that bed was!
I felt like I was in an oven laying on an iron frying pan. My legs were suspended in the air at my calves.
I truly don’t understand how they can stay in business.
The second bed was a pillow top mattress, that in less than 3 years has the springs coming through.
I had slept on a water bed for more than 20 years, so I’m definitely clueless.
Help!
Thanks, Sue
Hi Sue,
There is only one hard and fast rule to ensure that you make a successful mattress purchase:
”Avoid any mattress upholstered with memory foam”.
Despite all the advertising and sales hype to the contrary, memory foam is the absolute worst upholstery material ever invented.
It’s specifically designed to cause a mattress to need frequent replacing.
It sleeps hot and makes it difficult to change sleeping position.
And, it off gasses the toxic chemicals from which it’s made.
Thanks, Pete
VERY IMPORTANT:
Keeping your mattress clean and dry will increase its longevity.
We recommend our Organic Cotton Waterproof Mattress Protector.
