A memory foam-dominant Serta hybrid mattress. No good..

Hi Pete,
I’ve read through your site and since some responses seem dated, I’ll ask via email now.

Us: side sleepers, 155 and 125 lbs. Prefer firmer supportive beds, hate the feeling of sag, and have had mediums with a softer pillow-top. They’ve always been a tad soft, and with time low back pain has become a problem as our mattress aged. Recently got a memory foam-dominant Serta hybrid mattress.
Typical story… felt great in the store, then terrible bad ache for me half through the night. No good.
I have since tested latex in a store. I get it. Much better than memory foam.
Recommendations?
Thanks, Tim
Hi Tim,

Everything else is much better than memory foam…even the polyurethane foam that had been the primary foam prior to the introduction of memory foam.
Every body needs, basically, the same thing…firm contouring support and a comfortable sleeping surface.
When your plush mattress is made plush with memory foam, you sink in too far.
When it’s made plush with poly or latex foams, you’re cushioned, but don’t sink.
At your sizes, your best buy is the Wolf Brolynn Old Fashioned Two Sided Mattress in Plush
providing excellent support, comfort and longevity.

If you prefer the feel of latex, then I recommend the Wolf Jessica Mattress, softened by a Suite Sleep 2” or 3” Soft Organic Latex Topper.
