Hi Sarah,
The reason why mattresses are so bad these days, is due to the memory foam upholstery that is specifically designed to cause a mattress to need frequent replacing.
At the time of the post you cited, Simmons was using memory foam that was less temperature sensitive, more durable and cured, so that it didn’t off gas the toxic chemicals from which memory foam is made.
Since then, Simmons was purchased by an investment group, who now care nothing about quality, only profits. The memory foam they are using today is as bad as any.
So, that previous recommendation is no longer available.
What makes a Simmons Beautyrest so comfortable is the individually pocketed coils, which contour to the shape of the body and maintains the natural alignment of the spine.
