Hi Pete,
First of all, I want to say thank you for your webpage that has cleared a lot of the cobwebs in my mind.
I have read allot of the information and testimonials so I understand way more than I did before.
Also, from personal experience I have learned the importance of a good mattress.
Please add me to the list of so many people you have advised as to the best mattress for them.
I am a side sleeper, predominantly.
I’ve been known to switch sides a lot and sometimes very occasionally lay in my back.
I am 58 years old. I work many many hours a day so sleep is very valuable to me.
I also have rheumatoid arthritis, as well as neuropathy in my feet and hands.
I love the soft feel of a mattress but I also understand the importance of the right firmness.
I have bought the memory foam gimmick in the past and it made me very sick and very sore.
I threw away a Tempur-pedic mattress that caused me to break out in a rash all over.
I realize a lot of times you get what you pay for.
And although I work a lot, I don’t have a lot of money to spend. But I also don’t mind investing in my health.
If you could please advise me the best mattress you think I should get I would appreciate it.
I am 5 foot three and 128 pounds if that helps.
With the exception of the occasional sleepover of my young grandchildren or grand dog I sleep alone.
I understand you are super busy and you answer so many emails but I will look forward to your advice.
Thank you so much I appreciate it and all you do to help people.
Mary
Hi Mary,
One of the advantages of being small, is that you don’t need to spend a lot of money to get a good quality, long lasting mattress.
The Wolf Brolynn Old Fashioned Two Sided Mattress in Plush is what I recommend for you.
The individually pocketed coils contour to the shape of the body and maintain the natural alignment of the spine. This type of support is what relieves chronic back pain and pressure point pain at the shoulder and hip.
The upholstery is natural, plant based poly foam, which does not off gas.

While plush and reasonably comfortable, it isn’t a soft mattress.
If you would like more surface comfort that doesn’t wear out anytime soon, add a
Suite Sleep Latex Mattress Topper.
The softest is the Vita Talalay.
The organic Dunlop is soft, but quite as soft.
Still, a 2” or 3” soft Dunlop Latex Topper makes a difference.
I don’t recommend buying one now, as the mattress may be comfortable enough for you.
Wait a few days after getting the mattress before deciding if a latex topper is needed.
Here is the link to those:
The mattress ships via UPS.
The topper ships via FedEx.
Delivery is free and there’s no sales tax.
Thanks, Pete
