Moving to an older house. We need a mattress that will fit up a tight staircase.

Hi Pete,

My family and I are moving to an older house.
We need a mattress that will fit up a tight staircase.
The stairs in our new (old) house probably cannot fit a king size mattress.

I measured a width of 58″ and a height from step to ceiling in the stairwell of 78″.
I figure we can probably squeeze a queen through, but not a king.

We also need to be careful that any bases and headboards come broken down into small enough parts to get them up the stairs.

I tend to sleep hot and would like a bed that doesn’t add to that.
Myself and wife, plus daughter (6 yrs) and son (3 yrs) all need beds.
My wife and I are average size.
I want to mattresses that will be comfortable for the long term.
Thanks, Mark
Hi Mark,
Since you already sleep hot, you need to avoid any mattresses made with memory foam.
Memory foam wears poorly and reflects your body heat to you, causing you to sleep even hotter.

The good news is that all of our mattresses are packaged in a way that will allow you to get themupstairs without any problems.

The same is true for the KD foundations you’ll see them priced with as an option.
For your daughters, the Old Fashioned Two Sided Brolynn Mattress in Plush is all you’ll need.

This mattress provides excellent support. comfort and longevity.
This mattress is also a great choice for you and your wife, especially when you consider moving expenses.
However, if you have the extra money to spend, and looking for something more luxurious, you might also consider The Suite Sleep Organic Latex Mattresses or the Magniflex Organic Mattresses from Italy.
Here are links to each of those lines.
In all cases, shipping is free.

Thanks, Pete

Using an old box spring to support any new mattress will cause premature wear and void the manufacturer’s warranty.
A waterproof mattress protector will extend the life of a mattress by keeping the upholstery materials clean and dry.
