Hey Pete,
My wife and I purchased a Simmons Beautyrest Black C class mattress, a month ago.
We noticed the mattress started to sag on the edges and a ridge in the middle, sagging a 1.25″.
I called the store and inquired about this she told me it was normal.
She said flip the bed and walk on it in the center to break it in as well as give it 90 days.
Saying that this should work it self out.
I started looking on line and found your reviews, so my question is what to do next?
Should we continue on like they said, return it for a different one, or get refund?
The funny thing is my wife has had a Simmons Beautyrest recharge that’s 7 years old, from before we met.
She used it at her house with no issues and has never flipped it. It’s now in our guest bedroom.
We spent over 4k for this mattress and were told we would love it. Help!!
Thank you, Bob
Hi Bob,
Get a refund, if you can.
That store offers nothing worth buying.
Your girlfriend’s mattress was made just before Simmons was sold.
The quality has dropped dramatically since then.
All of the name brands, that you could once trust for quality, have been sold.
The investment group that bought Simmons also bought Serta.
Tempurpedic owns Sealy and S&F.
All are using poor quality memory foam, which is specifically designed to cause a mattress to need frequent replacing…and not under the terms of the warranty.
To make a successful purchase, you only need to avoid mattresses upholstered with memory foam.
And you don’t need to spend nearly that much money.
You’re paying, in large part, for their advertising.
Memory foam is cheaply made.
Thanks, Pete

Hey Pete,
Thank you for the fast response. The information is great.
Based on your knowledge and expertise, are there any mattresses you would recommend?
Thank you, Bob
Hi Bob,
We carry an old fashioned two sided mattress that uses an individually pocketed coil system.
This is the same coil system that is used in a Simmons Beautyrest.
The coils are stronger, made of heavier gauge steel and that steel is double tempered.
The upholstery is natural plant based polyurethane foam…no memory foam.
That mattress is the Brolynn in Plush.

It’s much higher quality than what you bought and for quite a bit less money.
Then again, you’re not paying for advertising…just great support, comfort and longevity.
Shipping is free and takes about a week or so to arrive.
Thanks, Pete

Using an old box spring to support any new mattress will cause premature wear and void the manufacturer’s warranty.
A waterproof mattress protector will extend the life of a mattress by keeping the upholstery materials clean and dry.
