Hi Pete,
I bought a Tempurpedic memory foam mattress less than a year ago.
At first, it was great. Within a few months, (after the trial period was over), it became less than great.
Now, it’s several months old and it is causing me extreme back pain.
This mattress was so expensive, that I had to finance it. I’ll be paying for this for 2+ more years.
I feel like I’ve been shafted by an unscrupulous company and don’t know what to do.
Can you help me?
Thanks, Mel
Hi Mel,
There is a fix for that, which will cost you little, and maybe nothing.
The memory foam in that mattress is the problem.
Fortunately, it’s not all memory foam. The memory foam is only on the top.
The memory foam is supported by high density polyurethane foam.
So, the first thing to do, is flip the mattress over.
The flip side of that mattress will be much firmer…much better for your back, but maybe too firm to sleep on comfortably. If so, add whatever you have handy to soften it…like a comforter.
If more cushioning is need to make you comfort enough to sleep deeply, then add a comfortable mattress topper has a long term solution.
We have a nice selection of Non-Memory Foam Mattress Toppers.
