What is the advantage of one sided vs. two-sided mattresses for heavier people?

Hi Pete

I’ve been studying your blog.  Wonderfully informative.
I have a question.
I notice you offer both one sided and two-sided mattresses.
What is the advantage of one sided vs. two-sided?
Is a one-sided mattress designed for heavier people?
Thanks again for this outstanding blog.
Regards, Cliff
Good Morning, Cliff.
Durability is based on the quality of the components…more so than one sided or two sided.
If the same mattress were available one side and two sided, then the two sided model would last longer…
…only if you flip it regularly.
The Brandy-Lynn Two Sided Mattress is strong and firm…a good base for a heavy person.
That mattress…shown here:
For a softer sleeping surface, add a Suite Sleep 2″ Soft or Medium Soft Organic Latex Mattress Topper.
This upholstery layer provides long lasting comfort.

If you are going to add a mattress topper, flipping a two-sided mattress becomes a pain in the butt, if you have to remaove and replace the topper revery time you flip the mattress.
Under those circumstances, you’re better off with a strong one sided mattress…like The Adrian or Jessica Mattresses….with the Adrian being  a better choice for extraordinarily heavy people.

Using an old box spring to support any new mattress will cause premature wear and void the manufacturer’s warranty.
A waterproof mattress protector will extend the life of a mattress by keeping the upholstery materials clean and dry.
