No back pain, No hip pain, on an old Simmons Beautyrest Mattress.

Jean writes:
Hi Pete,

I just stayed at my brother’s house and the mattress in their guest room was amazing.
I experienced No back pain, No hip pain, fell asleep instantly, and slept all through the night.
His mattress is about 13-14 years old and had been slept on by their teen daughter for the first few years.
It’s a Simmons Beautyrest Dressler Pillow Top.
What would be equivalent to this today? – if there is one.
My daughter & son-in-law had a Simmons Beautyrest Black, and got rid of it after 3 years.
It was a bad investment for them!
The company that picked it up said he picked up lots of them – lots of unhappy customers!
Thanks for any info you can provide.
Hello Jean,
An investment group bought Simmons, some years ago.
In fact, that same investment group also bought Serta.
They’ve done such a fine job of screwing things up, that they have filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.
Both brands are now junk, thanks to all the worthless  memory foam upholstery.
Memory foam is specifically designed to cause a mattress to need frequent replacing.
Today, it’s all about profits and not at all about quality.
Their Black Series, their top of the line, is expensive and a huge waste of money.
Nothing Simmons makes today is even remotely close in quality to the mattress in your brother’s guest bedroom.
The mattress I’m recommending for you is the Wolf Jessica Mattress.
It has the same coil system and support that’s in your brother’s Beautyrest.
It also uses the same type of upholstery materials, containing no memory foam.

To attain the pillowtop feel, simply add a Mattress Topper…a removable pillowtop.
We have a variety of them…shown here:

Thanks, Pete

You Should Know
Using an old box spring to support any new mattress will cause premature wear and void the manufacturer’s warranty.
A waterproof mattress protector will extend the life of a mattress by keeping the upholstery materials clean and dry.
