Cheap latex comes from China, where they use clay as a filler.
You didn’t get pure latex. You got what you paid for.
Also, a latex topper only provides surface comfort. It does not provide support.
Your back hurts because of the mattress under the topper.
It’s the mattress that supplies the support for your back.
I recommend getting a new mattress and foundation.
